Brendan Swift

Brendan Swift has been involved in corporate disputes for close to 30 years. Clients have included financial institutions, corporations and individuals, directors, managing directors, shareholder groups, creditors and insolvency practitioners. He has advised banks and financial institutions on security enforcement and on action against parties who have contributed to corporate losses.

In 2021, he was appointed as a Disciplinary Panel Member of CPA Australia. In 2022, the Board appointed him as a Chair. In this role, he chairs panels of independent accounting professional responsible for examining complaints made against CPA Australia members under its constitution.

He is a member of the University of Newcastle’s Alumni Advisory Committee and was awarded an Alumni Excellence Award by the University in 2024.

Brendan brings a diverse range of experience to bear on his clients’ legal issues. Before his admission as a lawyer, Brendan worked as an advisor to Ministers in the NSW State Government during the Premier Greiner and Fahey years and as a private consultant to industry.

He is an early adopter of technology, with the firm entirely electronic in its business processes and client-facing communications.

Outside of law, Brendan enjoys keeping up with current affairs, watching films, travelling, and spending time with his wife, four children, and two miniature sausage dogs.
