Regulatory Investigations

The two main corporate regulators in Australia are the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

Both of them have extensive powers of investigation. While you may know the subject matter of why you have been contacted, you will not necessarily know exactly the focus of the investigation. Are you a target? Are you a witness? Even if you do think you know, sometimes what you say or produce can change the focus of an investigation and you can become a target.  Sometimes businesses are the victim of extortionate behaviour from large companies which breaches competition law.

We are experienced in these laws and walk alongside individuals and companies; in dealing with regulatory agencies, negotiating issues that arise in the process, appearing in hearings, and protecting your rights on the way through.
